Call the welcoming committee and tell them to circle May 22nd on their calendars. That’s the day Buffalo comes to town and it looks like the team will include Valentino Pascucci who is currently 7 homeruns shy of 200 in his minor league career.
    Other Phillies minor league signings:
    1. Brian Mazone was re-signed.
    2. Luis Maza, age 29. Primarily a second baseman, he hit .300 for Albuquerque in 2009 and has a lifetime .294 average in AAA covering 6 seasons.
    3. Brian Gordon, age 31. Originally an outfielder, he converted to pitcher a few years ago. He was 7-3 3.49 in AAA last year.
    4. Freddy Guzman, Switch hitting 29 year old outfielder. Stole 45 bases last year and was called up to the Yankees in September. He’s currently playing in the Caribbean Series for the Dominican Republic and hit leadoff (CF) today in their 2-1 win over Puerto Rico. He led off the first by reaching on an infield error, was sacrificed to 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on a fielders choice. Pablo Ozuna is his teammate on the Dominican team and he was 1-3 today. As far as I know he’s still a free agent. Other ’09 Ironpigs still on the free agent market include Newhan, Furmaniak, & Tiffee.
