Today I got confirmation that General Admission Season tickets for the 2010 Ironpigs season are NOW AVAILABLE!
YOU’RE VOICE WAS HEARD!!! We petitioned for this and with the assistance of a few great supporters at the Ironpigs we got the option to buy a GA Season Ticket!
Why buy a Season Ticket?
1. You don’t have to stand in line!
2. You get a ticket card instead of a stack of tickets!
3. You get first opportunity to purchase other tickets! (Remember how fast the concert tickets sold last year!)
4. The annual Season Ticket holder picnic at CCP!
5. Because all the cool kids are doing it..
To order your season ticket, contact AMY SCHOCH at 610-841-1222.
Let her know that you are a member of the NOISE NATION!!!

They must have forgotten to invite me to the annual season ticket holder picnic in 2009. 😦
The Ironpigs lost a terrific fan on January 25th when Shirley Hricinak passed away at age 78. Shirley and Joe were season ticket holders from day 1 and saw almost every game during the 2008 season. They missed much of 2009 because of health issues involving Joe, so it was a huge shock to learn of Shirley’s passing. She was a big Andy Tracy fan and she’ll be missed in Section 108.
I got my invite via email and it wasn’t publicized to me other than that. You didn’t miss much. It was insanely hot, then it rained and the food lines – although free – took about 45 minutes to an hour to navigate. Granted, it was free and we found ourselves a spot to hang out, the Noise Nation made their own fun!
I got my invoice for the GA season ticket today! One day close to April 14th…
Also, sorry to hear of the loss of a great fan. I will add an extra prayer for her and family tonight.

Shirley’s husband Joe played baseball with several major league ballplayers in Europe during WWII and then played minor league ball for a few years after the war. He actually has a listing at baseball-reference.com although they have his dob as 1925. I think he was born in 1921 or 1922. And they have him listed as playing for a Minnesota affiliate. When he played they were still the Washington Senators.

I don’t think he’ll be at CCP this year either since he’s suffering from Alzheimers.
You never know who you’ll meet at CCP. While visiting the Camden Yards in Baltimore last summer I sat next to a man who played up to AA ball in the 50’s when his father advised him to leave baseball for a more lucrative career in a warehouse. I looked him up when I got home but can’t recall his name now.
There were a bunch of scouts at a game last summer and I noticed the name “Bruce Tanner” on one of their IDs. I asked, “any relation to Chuck Tanner”? He said, “yeah, he’s my dad”. Bruce is a major league scout for the Tigers. I didn’t know at the time that Bruce had also pitched for the White Sox in 1985.
My friend also had to kick someone out of his seat at a game last year. Turns out it was Chuck Domino.
Forgot to mention, I may have received that e-mail invitation but decided not to go. I remember how crazy the food lines were the previous year when we went to watch game 1 of the World Series against the Rays. And it was about 35 degrees that night.
