According to Todd Zolecki’s blog, “The Zo Zone” the Phillies have released 12 minor leaguers.
Most notably are RHP Joe Bisenius and OF Brad Wilkerson. Guess there won’t be any reunions this year for Wilkerson and Andy Tracy.

Nothing really surprising here. Wilkerson is always going to be one of those guys that I thought was juicing back when he was in the majors. He probably told the Phils that if he didn’t make the big club, he wasn’t going to accept the assignment in the minors.
I saw Gus Milner last year a lot in Reading, and he really struggled. With too many other good OF prospects in the system, he had to go. Not a good time to be a mediocre OF prospect in the Phillies system. A few years ago this guy would have started at AAA probably.
Maybe, Matt, Maybe.
Maybe Wilkerson was juicing. Maybe he told the Phils that.
But you know, with younger, better OF players around, there’s no need to carry him. From what I’ve read, he’s done OK, but nothing to distinguish himself. What I’m saying is, Maybe he got cut because he wasn’t good enough…just like Milner.
