Today’s Game/Dice K to Rehab at Coca Cola Park!

Not much to report on today’s game. It was windy, partly sunny and cool. There were close to 400 dogs present, my Weimaraner Wally was in attendance. Another announced sellout of roughly 8,000 fans today. Pigs lost 3-1 and the only real complaint I had was the rally killing double play bunt back to the pitcher. Not naming names.. but you know who you are!

A few weeks back I mentioned that there was a glint of hope for Dice K Matsuzaka to rehab at CCP and our wish has been granted as today the Ironpigs announced he will be making a start on Wednesday night’s game against the Pigs. Let’s hope the monsoon that followed him here last time won’t show up again.

Keeping this short this afternoon.. still have grocery shopping, laundry to do. Putting the lawn work off until tomorrow. OINK!

  1. I’m the guy Jeff (Ricticassee) told you about.
Why did part of me think they’d let people with dogs into other parts of the park than the outer concourse?
And why are some of the ushers back in the stands trying to get their attention by leading woof-woof cheers? They (dogs) can’t hear anything that far away unless it’s amplified…
And what about these other new sandwiches they’re selling at the pizza counter?

    • I’ve had Wally at most of the dog days and each one restricted them to the outfield. Makes sense. Not sure about the ushers and I haven’t made it to the Pizza counter yet.. so much food, so little time at home games. I’ll try to check it out soon!

When I was at the Pizza Stand the other day, they had three toasted “deli” sandwiches: the “Ferrous” and the “Fefe” were Reuben/Rachel type sandwiches. The other was a ham and cheese (swiss?) on a pretzel bun.

I had the ham and cheese. I put some mustard on it from the hot dog condiments. It was tastey. About the only bad this is that in order for them to toast it, it takes a little time. You get shooshed off to the side to wait. Evenually a guy comes from the back and finds you to give you the sandwich. It comes with potato chips, which were unremarkable.

      • I wonder if those Philly Pretzel guys make pretzel buns? I’ve had a pretzel bun twice in my life. The first was great.. it had to have been made fresh in a bakery. The second was nasty and I haven’t had one since. It had a freezer burnt chemically taste to it.

I’d say this one was somewhere in between.

  2. Kram: I’ve never cared for Martin’s chips, but if they have a deal with the team…:-/

You’ll likewise have a wait for a Walking Taco…good-tasting, tho gnarly-looking…did ‘Ric’ tell you about that?

I’d try the Ferrous…I’ve always loved a good Reuben.
