Today we learned that Brandon Duckworth has been taken off of the Disabled list and replaced by Alex Concepcion. Duckworth, suffering from an injured Valendia must have sat too close to Concepcion in the clubhouse as Concepcion takes to the DL with an injured right turf toe. Somebody should talk to head grounds keeper Bill Butler about this dangerous, yet beautiful, turf causing so many injuries…
Also of note, Drew Carpenter was scratched from his scheduled start and could possibly be replacing JA Happ in Philadelphia. The Phillies are getting hammered by injuries right now. Last night Polanco was replaced late in the game by former Ironpig Wilson Valdez.
If you’re looking for something to do on Friday, Joe Blanton is scheduled to rehab with the Reading Phillies. The Reading Phillies also host Harrisburg next week and it has been announced that Stephen Strasburg will make a start there on Monday.
Exciting baseball and exciting prospects/rehabbing stars in eastern Pennsylvania this month! What a great way to start the season!

“Injured Velandia”
I love learning new vocabulary.
