Game Notes 4/27/10 Pigs 6 – Redwings 3

Cody Ransom Leads Team With 5 Errors - Photo by Decal

The Ironpigs took a victory in chilly Rochester tonight improving their record to 8 wins 10 losses. The hitting looked solid and starting pitcher Nate Bump picked up his team leading 3rd win. The bullpen is looking good right now, even in the cold weather of a North East spring.

Goods

Dane Sardinha was a hit machine tonight going 3 for 3 with a walk and run scored.

Rich Thompson had a another good night hitting 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.

The Pig’s bats were alive tonight getting 13 hits and scoring 6 runs. They did, however, leave 8 runners stranded.

Nate Bump recorded his team leading 3rd victory of the season.

Oscar Villareal gave up a homerun to the first batter he faced. Had the Pigs not scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th, it would be recorded as a blown save. He finished the inning by striking out the side and added on one more scoreless inning.

The bullpen seems to be coming together, Ehren Wasserman added one scoreless inning and Scott Mathieson finished the game with 2 strikeouts not allowing a runner.

Not so Goods

Although Andy Tracy did walk twice and hit a ball that barely missed being his 50th franchise HR..

Cody Ransom collected his team leading 5th error.
