I wanted to share this all with you. A couple weeks ago the Noise Nation made a road trip up to Scranton to see the Ironpigs take on the Scranton Yankees in Moosic, PA.
This afternoon I opened up my mailbox and noticed a card. I thought to myself, oh no another birthday, another wedding, another tupperwear or candle party that I need to make an excuse to get out of.. but it wasn’t.
It was a hand written, yes hand written, thank you note from the group representative saying how much he appreciated our visiting their stadium and wishing us a welcome return. What a class act that Scranton organization is! I have given many gifts and gotten generic thank you cards, if any thank you’s at all. I am hard to impress and I am very impressed by this! I realize this is part of a marketing department trying to get us to return, but to hand write a unique card to us was great.
Thank you Scranton Yankees! Thank you!
On a side note.. frequent reader “RD” was able to locate the Columbus Clippers Ring your bell song. Enjoy!

That was very classy. Good job SWB Yankees. I was up there that Fri. b4 you guys went up and I noticed that their staff seems to be kind. A few who remembered me welcomed my back and hoped that I would return in the future. A special shoutout to the one usher behind home plate who I had some fun with that night. He shouted go Yankees and I shouted back Go Pigs. We had a nice chat after the game. Way 2 go SWB.
I think it’s great, and I’m not trying to 1-up or anything, but just wanted to share:
I brought a group of 40 to an IronPigs game last year (KNBT Field of Dreams), the night of the JAHapp bobbleheads and Michael Taylor’s Cycle.
Anyway, as the group leader, I got a free parking pass for the evening, a thank you letter (not handwritten, but personally signed), a satisfaction survey, a voucher for two free tickets to a future game, and a follow-up phone call.
Perhaps some of it was extra because I’m a season-ticket holder, but that’s about what the IronPigs do for their groups.
(Not to mention the whole first-pitch thing: I sent the coach out to do it because I didn’t want to, and I didn’t want to pick a kid and have anyone feel left out.)
Really, where have the Ironpigs NOT outdone the competition… 🙂
That’s great Dan. That is definately very classy of them! Kudos to the SWB Yankees. I can’t wait until the Noise Nation makes a return trip! We will be there, with bells on (pun intented…lol).
Love the Clippers song. I’m adding it to my playlist right after Swing It Like An Ironpig by Johnny Jackson. Seems like that one was dropped from the Ironpigs playlist for 2010.
