Pigs Get Roasted in Doubleheader

Pigs lost both ends of tonight’s doubleheader against Toledo. I will spare you the details but the below image says it all…

Whole Hog Pulled Pork Every Thursday at CCP!

Every Thursday the good folks at Royal Gourmet Foods cooks up some whole hog pork and serves a sandwich plate for a deal at $7.50. You get potato salad and much to the chagrin of those around me, baked beans to go with a sizeable pork sandwich. I cannot emphasize how much better it is than the big porker sandwich offered at every game.

Yum

They had some literature at the stand and it looks like they cater parties, weddings, etc. so it’s worth a look if you’re planning something big.

It has been a while since I wrote anything about food but I had to write this. I have a smoker and often cook my own pork shoulders. I lived in NC for 4 years where pulled pork is an every day staple. I consider myself expert in the art of eating pork. I really, really like this pork!

It was cool hanging out with the “Duck Pond” tonight! Great group and hope to see them around the Noise Nation often!

Tomorrow is Friday Fireworks! OINK!

If that tastes anything like your pork, that it is good. You make one hell of a pork!! Maybe next time, we’ll have to attempt it….

I guess the Noise Nation would have no affect on Toledo’s Thursday game 1 pitcher Ryan Ketchner since he was born deaf and has only about 10% hearing in both ears with the help of hearing aids in both ears. He is also very adept at lip reading. Ketchner is now 3-2 3.12 for the Mud Hens.

Joe Savery is now 1-6 4.88. He allowed 3 solo homeruns in the first inning Thursday night after allowing 5 earned runs, including a 2-run homer, in the first inning of his previous start on June 4th. Going back one more start to May 30th, he allowed 3 earned runs in the 2nd inning. That’s a total of 11 earned runs in the first or second inning of Joe Savery’s last 3 starts.

Other Joe Savery starts of note:
April 11: Allowed 2 run HR in 2nd inning.
April 21: Allowed 2 earned runs in 2nd inning.
April 28th: Allowed 2 earned runs in 2nd inning.
May 14th: Allowed 3 earned runs in 1st inning.

Joe Savery has allowed a total of 34 earned runs this year. 20 of those 34 earned runs have come in the first or second inning.

  3. Well, I’ll be there next Thursday v Scranton Yanks, so guess what… 😛

Well I had a crappy spicy sausage sandwich on a stale roll on Thursday. I totally forgot about the pig roast. Next week I won’t forget. If we get enough people eating the beans maybe we can recreate the scene from Blazing Saddles.
