Wow..if it would stay like this…we will have a lot of Pigs in the All-Star game!! AWESOME!! I need to get more email addresses so I can vote more!
Ryan Ketchner (2-2, 2.83) is starting Game 1 for Toledo. Original starter was Enrique Gonzalez but he got called up to Detriot.
Bump should be ahead of Carpenter on merit.
Duffy is a stretch, on merit.
What about Rich Thompson for OF?
I guess Paul Hoover is now the #1 vote getter at catcher since the Indians called up Carlos Santana today and optioned some guy named Marson to AAA.
We saw that coming.. although I did see a bloop hit by Marson on the highlight reel this morning. If memory serves me correctly, didn’t Mike Cervenak get voted to the All Star game in 2008 only to miss the game for his first call to the Phillies?
That sounds right. He was called up on July 10, 2008, replacing J.A. Happ on the Phillies roster and was sent back down on July 21st. He was 0-1 during that time, getting his 1 AB as a pinch hitter for J.C. Romero vs. Arizona. Cervenak, Jaramillo and Mazone were chosen as all-stars in 2008. Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen was probably the best player to come from that all-star team. Interesting that Terry Tiffee played left field for the PCL all-star team that year.
Tiffee actually led AAA in batting that year.. something over .350
