The Pigs got a little offense this afternoon but not enough in their 72nd game of the season. Can you believe that with the 144 game season we are already halfway through? I am dreading that cold dull offseason.
Anyways..
Andy Tracy had a sacrifice fly and John Mayberry a solo homer.
They did rally in the ninth but Paul Hoover grounded out in a bases loaded pinch hit situation to end the game. Pigs lose 3 to 5.
The best part of this game was Matt Provence calling the game as the Ironpig’s vs. the Laundry Detergents.
Will write more about the halfway mark tomorrow.
OINK!

Interesting thought about off-season.
Personally, I’ve been a bit hampered by humidity and rather depressed July and August (the worst months) have yet to come.
One of my employees heard (on the radio) that Happ will indeed be starting for the ‘Pigs on Tuesday. FWIW.
Rotoworld agrees: http://snurl.com/xta9e
I believe minor league rehab assignments for pitchers can last for a maximum of 30 days. If necessary Happ would be able to make another start (if necessary) for the Ironpigs prior to July 7th when his 30 day rehab assignment runs out…
Also, Durham Bulls fan favorite Matt Joyce was promoted to Tampa today just in time to miss playing against the Ironpigs. Dioner Navarro was sent down.
FWIW.. that’s new to me. What the definition?

I added it because I could not find a site right away to verify my info, and wanted to indicate to the readers that it was hearsay at that juncture.
