Bocock? Really? Will he be taking his big red bat with him?
Dobbs? Really? Not that he’s been on fire the two games that he’s been playing in AAA, cause well, he hasn’t.
Defensive moves by the Phils?

They don’t have bad immediate replacements with Valdez, gload and Castro — though im unsure who will get the play day to day — but I certainly would never pick dobbs or bocock for their bats — I would have called up sellers, and ransom before those two.
Bocock is an incredible shortstop and sadly, his bat is absolutely horrible. I wonder sometimes about these moves.. I see Bocock being a defensive replacement at 2nd or Short if needed and Castro or Valdez taking the starting spot.
I was very surprised by this move…Dobbs really hasn’t done much since he was sent down to the ‘Pigs (2-17 at the plate), Bocock is good for fielding but his bat stinks too…I think Bocock was definitely brought up as a back up for Valdez or Castro…unfortunately I think Charlie will have Dobbs in as a starter because he has more MLB experience than anyone else currently sitting as a back up.
The reason Ransom and Sellers weren’t pulled is because they aren’t on the 40 man roster, Bocock is. Plus, Cody’s IL leading errors makes him undesirable for big league play.
Dan just wanted to let you know…just heard that Chase Utley is likely to be out for 2 months due to that thumb injury (he had surgery today for a torn ligament) which means some of our former Pigs could be in Phillie for a while…
