More Moves 7/21/10

The latest and greatest comes via Todd Zolecki on Twitter.

Reading RHP Vance Worley to the Phillies.

Drew Carpenter to Reading.

I see a LOT more moves coming in the next few days.

OinK!

There better be more moves because this makes no sense itself. When you demote Bump and Carpenter from an inconsistent pitching staff in which the two starters being demoted have been among the better options for most of the season, you might as well run up the white flag instead of promoting White Out Night.

Sure hope Worley does not revert to 2009 R-Phils form (7-12 w-l, 5.34 ERA) upon arrival in AAA to face the older, more experienced players he is sure to meet in the International League.

Rolf, according to the Phillies website, Worley is now on the active roster of the Philadelphia Phillies not Lehigh Valley.

Next year could be rough for the IronPigs…

…no AAA All-Star game to stir excitement and tie ticket-packages to.

HINT — Stop the annoying, incessant spin and BS. Stop apologizing for the fact the Phillies are not serious about their AAA team. Bottom line, the damn AAA record consistently posted for YEARS and YEARS speaks volumes.

Admit the IronPigs are horrible and I’ll think about spending MY money on the East Side of Allentown again someday.

I’m willing to spend six bucks to watch Andy Tracy and, perhaps if he is in the mood, John Mayberry swing the bat roughly four times apiece per game.

And stuff my face at the Park and buy a bunch of team hats to give to friends along the way.

I’m not willing to support the spin and BS, particularly not with MY money.

In the meantime, whatever…I don’t care what happens to the Phillies.

I live and work in Allentown, not Philadelphia.

How many Philadelphians make the nightly commute to Coca-Cola Park?

    Yeah, that’s what I thought.

“Spin and BS” from whom? Don’t be shy, name some names.

The IronPigs are horrible. There. I said it.

But they did have a winning record at The Coke last year, regardless of the color of the balloons. (38-34)

Maybe if it’s a tougher year next year, I’ll have better luck getting extra tickets when I need them…

    Thanks PSVUE…

…you can see how closely I am paying attention.

Are the IronPigs even over .400 yet?

Rolf… I don’t think it’s spin that the Phillies are not particularly interested in their AAA team as far as wins and losses. It was the same for much of the time the Phillies had their AAA affiliate in Scranton. More than a few die hard Red Baron fans as well as some people within the Scranton organization were thrilled to end the affiliation with the Phillies because of talent issues beyond the few legitimate Phillie prospects who passed through there. Unfortunately for Scranton a significant portion of the fan support has vanished even though the Yankees have provided the SWB Yankees with some decent AAA and AAAA talent. It’s also not spin to say that a majority of attendees at Minor League baseball games come for the “carnival”, not the baseball games themselves. That latter fact is well understood by the Ironpigs but not the people running the SWB Yankees.
