The rainstorm that went through yesterday afternoon was terrible but it dropped the temperature almost 20 degrees leading to a beautiful night at The Coke. There was some scars on the big screen and the Philly Pretzel stand took some damage but overall the park looked good. It really felt like someone turned on the AC with a game time temperature of 73 degree! The storm made it nice for the fans but it didn’t cool off the Pig’s bats!
The Ironpigs knocked out 10 hits in a 3 to 2 victory over the Norfolk Tide!
Just about every Ironpig contributed at the plate and Drew Carpenter, Michael Stutes and Antonio Bastardo combined to allow 9 hits and 2 runs.
Look at the way this bullpen has become younger and stronger!
Michael Schwimer!
Mike Zagurski!
Scott Mathieson!
Antonio Bastardo!
Michael Stutes!
This is quite possibly the most solid bullpen we have seen here in the Lehigh Valley!
With this win the Pigs pulled even with the Pawtucket Red Sox and by the benefit of alphabetical order, appear on top of a tie for 4th place in the Northern division of the International league! Not that they wouldn’t be in the basement of either of the two other divisions.. but hey, it’s something!

So tonight is the night many fans have been waiting for.. the Andy Tracy bobble head give-away. Thanks to Nacci printing the first 3,000 fans (18 and older) will receive a bobble head. Keep in mind that this is probably the biggest hand out of the year. Don’t expect them to last. Gates are open at 5:50pm tonight and on nights where there is a huge crowd at the gate, they sometimes open early to keep everything safe.
I will say this now.. if you REALLY have to have a bobble head.. get there early. I’m not talking 6:15 early.. I can see fans arriving at 2:00-3:00 and waiting two hours to make sure they get one. And if you don’t get one.. be cool about it. The world will not end and most likely you will be able to find dozens on ebay or craigslist tomorrow. Don’t turn something the organization does to be nice into something bad.
OinK!

Excellent point, Mr. Kehl.
If one really MUST HAVE the Tracy Bobblehead, one should take a hard look at the reality of the circumtances and, act accordingly.
ie., line up at about 1 or 2 pm 0r don’t bitch!
The only thing I really ever HAD TO HAVE was the Bucket Hat in the 1st year. It was always for my brother, not me.
I went over TWO HOURS before the gates were set to open (it was a Sunday).
The place was mobbed — I just BARELY got one…
Hey Dan,
I’m hosting a small group in the club level today. Our group includes more adults than kids, and we may have an extra bobblehead. If you come accross a KID in The Noise Nation who needs one, just call me out on twitter and I’ll bring one down if I can. ( I’m following NN, but twitter id is: masidoc)
Next topic: indeed, folks over at Phuture Phillies are saying that this may be the Phillies BullPen in a year or two…It’s nice to have a chance in every game: if we’re ahead we have a chance to hold on; if we’re behind we have a chance to come back.
So, we have a chance except for: Savery. I was hoping for Worley tonight, but I’ll have to wait until tomorrow, I guess. Hopefully, they get Savery up and pitching NOW! By the time the game starts, he should have a sufficient number of walks under his belt to pitch to the real batters. π
Thanks! Awesome offer! I’ll let you know if we need any. OinK!
