I’m glad they waited til after the auction to place them on the DL…but bummed that Matt won’t be playing anytime soon 😦

If they wouldn’t have said retroactive to the 24th I would have said that Schwimer’s back strain was from bending down for a picture with Laura last night…holy shit that boy is TALL!!!

I dunno. Matt spent a LONG time on the field during warm-ups yesterday in Moosic. He was working on his fielding extensively. I’m not saying that he’s not injured, by any means, just that he may be back for the last homestand next weekend (7-day minimum DL in minors, I think?)

Is it true that there was a guy who was blocking the auction table last night that prevented others from getting jerseys. I wasnt there, but I spoke to an usher from last night, who said he was blocking it and won like 7 jerseys. Fill me in……

    • I haven’t heard anything about last night but, from previous experiences, it gets insane at that table in the 7th inning. For something with an intent of charity and good will.. leave it to a few morons to turn it into a standard of greed and selfishness. Personally, the jerseys mean nothing to me. That they raise funds for Ironpig Charities is what is important. I have seen people push and shove, I have seen people try to intimidate others not to bid and I have seen people in tears because they were outbid. Again, back to greed and selfishness. Not that there aren’t good people bidding who sincerely want to make a donation in return for a jersey… but it gets way out of hand.

There are always people that stand right on top of the table… But I don’t know of anyone winning more than 1 of the jerseys last night

I was there and it was not a good scene. I talked to people who are going to file complaints to the IronPigs Management. It is a charity for a great cause. But this needs to be an auction where you put your name and amount in something and no one sees it.
There were a couple of guys with big back packs and hate to sound nasty, but there were two very large people strategically standing at the table, basically blocking 3-4 names. Very sad..

  5. Just like the woman complaining about Ballpark Bingo. “There’s people without Bingo that are allowed to enter the raffle!” “They’re getting a phone call!!”

    Just shut up.

Tonight’s Season Ticket Night was A LOT of fun. So cool to stand on the field and throw in the bullpen. My arm hurts from pitching!

I have won 2 jerseys through the auctions this year. Yes, I stand by the clipboard of the person I want to win. Do I let people in to go above my name, sure I do. But, I write my name right under theirs. I really don’t think there was someone that won 7 jersey’s but who knows. I remember the guy that won Brown’s jersey at $1,300, also won another jersey that auction.
