This is surprising on many levels. First, the Diamondbacks have a mountain of a man in 25 year old Brandon Allen who is a lefthanded hitter and played first base for AAA Reno last year, hitting something like 25 homers. On top of that, the Diamondbacks also signed left handed hitting firstbaseman and Ironpigs nemesis, Juan Miranda earlier this offseason.
Mark Prior assigned to SWB roster.
I’m going to write more on this in the morning, but that was the same thought that I had. A young hard hitting prospect and 2 salty veterans. Playing time will go to the prospect but wondering if Andy and Juan will be playing mentor. I have this odd feeling we haven’t seen the last of the Mighty Tracy.
