Now, this would make the whole experience better. One, does this year hold true again if the Pigs get to a 20 inning game, and two, can we bring the smoker? Just saying….

    • My streaking days are officially over. 20 inning game or not 🙂

Only propane cooking is allowed at Coca Cola Park and surrounding parking areas. I love charcoal myself, but remembering back to someone’s RV taking out a whole lot of cars a few years back makes me think this is a good rule.

OK, you wanted ’em. Here goes:

    1. How many games will the ‘pigs win this year? (58 last year, SWB won 87 to take the division. I’m guessing 85. I’ll put the over/under for wagering purposes at 70)

    2. Who will be the new ‘fan favorite’ to take Andy’s place? Rizzotti? Richie Thompson?

    3. Will Dom Brown start the season in Allentown? Will Bozied?

    4. Is Overbeck good enough to play 3B for the ‘pigs? Is Gillies good enough to play OF?

    5. Will I regret getting four seats this year instead of 2?

    6. How long will it take Dan to prepare all the recipes from the new cookbook for us to sample?

    7. Do you need more recipes? I’ve got a ton–many that I wrote myself–but I’m going to need more direction before I start sending stuff in.

    6. Any chance we can get the ‘no charcoal’ and ‘no alcohol’ bans lifted from the parking rules? Can I get a special permit? I didn’t think so. But, those rules are holding me back from doing more tailgating.

    7. What will be the most disappointing thing about the ‘pigs for 2011? Their record? A drop in attendance? The roster, in general? The new, quieter fireworks? Prices on some things start to rise? More giveaway drama?

    Have at it.

  3. OK, so most of this is my opinion.. enjoy!

I’m going to say they are definately over .500 which means more than 72. Best guess would be 75-78 wins. I don’t think Scranton will be the powerhouse they have been in the past.

    2. Who will be the new ‘fan favorite’ to take Andy’s place? Rizzotti? Richie Thompson?
Thompson is the guy. We all know him already and know he gives his all.

    3. Will Dom Brown start the season in Allentown? Will Bozied?

Brown should start in the LV as his winter showing was sad, even to the point of being recalled. I might even sense a “secret” injury as not to destroy his confidence. Bozied has a shot at LV if Rizzotti has a poor spring.

    4. Is Overbeck good enough to play 3B for the ‘pigs? Is Gillies good enough to play OF?

I would say yes to Overbeck and maybe to Gillies. While having charges dropped against him, it had to be a lot of stress on Gillies last season. I think Gillies is in Reading, at least to start 2011.

    5. Will I regret getting four seats this year instead of 2?

That depends on who you bring along to the game 🙂

    6. How long will it take Dan to prepare all the recipes from the new cookbook for us to sample?

It’s going to take a few days. Planning on having close to 150 recipes and other pages added in. I love the work and graphic arts is a hobby of mine so it will be a fun time in Dan town that week.

    7. Do you need more recipes? I’ve got a ton–many that I wrote myself–but I’m going to need more direction before I start sending stuff in.

I do need more recipes! Send them to editor@LVNoiseNation.com. Any format is fine.

    6. Any chance we can get the ‘no charcoal’ and ‘no alcohol’ bans lifted from the parking rules? Can I get a special permit? I didn’t think so. But, those rules are holding me back from doing more tailgating.

I imagine you “could” get a special permit but that would probably have to go through a lot of red tape and as always… someone would want a fee. The organization will likely zonk any request to keep all fans on an even keel, as if they approved one group, then a few hundred requests would hit their doorstep quicker than a plate of pork nachos did during last year’s homerun derby rainstorm.

    7. What will be the most disappointing thing about the ‘pigs for 2011? Their record? A drop in attendance? The roster, in general? The new, quieter fireworks? Prices on some things start to rise? More giveaway drama?

I would say the most disappointing thing will be the fans sense of a “hero” for the team. Out is Andy Tracy and in is Ryne Sandberg. Granted, having him there is a draw but he has a job to do. I wouldn’t expect him to be signing autographs before games (maybe the first few) and my sources tell me the Phillies organization has him heavily guarded from media and fans.

What kind of recipes are you lacking? Appetizers? Main dishes? Meat? (I’m not so good at vegetarian) Dessert? What do you need to round it out? Tailgating fare? Pork?

  4. You hit the nail on the head. Tailgating and Pork is perfect!

  5. Who originally figured out how to use the ‘hot coffee cup,’ and did he or she seek any advice from Pigs staff or others beforehand?

    Who showed the IronPigs?

    🙂
