Tomorrow is another day enroute to Opening day at The Coke. National Pig Day has historically been the first opportunity to purchase single game tickets for the Ironpigs season.
Compared to other years, this one seems pretty standard and tame. Early goers can get a free pork sandwich or hot dog. Folks that come by later in the morning can see the clown (to clarify, it’s a lady in a clown outfit who performs for children) and you can take a few swings in the batting cage. This year you can also take home an Ironpig’s yard sign that appears to be similiar to the standard plastic over wire frame sign that politicians spread throughout the Valley each fall. Free gift or free advertising? I’ll leave that decision up to you.
Anyways, just another step closer to the gates opening and baseball returning for the summer.
41 Days…
OinK!

Keep the fire burning, let it keep us warm
The world will keep on turning, let it turn you on
Let us not stop learning, we can help one another be strong
Let us never lose our yearning, to keep the fire burning all night long
We’ve been through this enough
It gets rough
But there’s no where to run
This is where IronPigs belong
We are strong
We can never give up
If we wanted to we could
But we’ve always understood
To keep looking for the good
Another offseason milestone. MLB Network’s Hot Stove had it’s final original show of the season on Friday. MLB Tonight takes its place beginning Monday. It may only be in Florida and Arizona, but baseball is here. Non-invitee minor leaguers report to spring training March 1st.
