Calling all Ironpigs experts. Just a little pre-season fun. Can you name these 2 former Ironpigs pitchers on the mound at Coca-Cola Park? You’re better than me if you can name both without doing any research. I went 0-2.

I believe 45 is John Ennis.
How about Steven Register and Jason Anderson
Steven Register signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays in 2010. He spent the 2010 season at AAA Las Vegas. No word on 2011 for him yet.
Jason Anderson signed with the Atlantic League’s Somerset Patriots for the 2011 season.
Thanks for the updates on Register and Anderson. I really appreciate the “Where are they now?” details for all of the ex-Iron Pigs.
I’m in the process of trying to cut my Ironpigs photo collection in half. I started with close to 4,000 photos and it isn’t easy deciding which ones to keep and which ones to delete. I’ll hold off on the names in case others want to guess, but I will say that neither of these photos were taken during the 2010 season.
Before you delete, can you burn me a disk or put on a flash drive for the Noise Nation archive?
I have very very little from 2008 and I’ve already deleted a bunch from the first half of 2009 but I still haven’t touched 2009 post allstar break and all of 2010. Much of what I deleted were players from other teams who I couldn’t identify and pictures of Ironpigs players that were very similar to photos I saved. I probably had about 100 photos of Dontrelle Willis and I cut it down to 20. 🙂 I’ll work on your request.
Josh Barfield, Tuffy Gosewisch and Dane Sardinha were reassigned to minor league camp today.
45 = John Ennis
19 = Rodrigo Lopez
How did I do?
Ironpigs Trivia nice ty
Okay, picture #1 was taken on June 13, 2009. It was the game that the Ironpigs wore the old throwback Phillies powder blue uniforms. It was also the night that “Quick Change” provided the entertainment. They became well known thanks to the TV show “America’s Got Talent”. The Ironpigs lost to the Charlotte Knights by a score of 6-4 in front of 9,454 fans, putting their season record at 25-36. Rodrigo Lopez threw the first 5 innings but Steven Register threw the final 2 innings of the shortened 7 inning game. That’s Register in the photo.
Picture #2 was even difficult for me to identify because Pat Overholt wore #19 at some point during the 2009 season. Still, I was fairly certain I had the correct guy, that is until someone guessed Jason Anderson. The photo was taken on July 3, 2009 when the Ironpigs played a day/night doubleheader. The game marked the return of Brian Mazone to the Ironpigs. Overholt was easily eliminated because he didn’t pitch in that game but he did pitch in game 2 when the Ironpigs wore white jerseys, not blue. Four pitchers threw in game 1 that day and after doing a google photo search of other photos I feel fairly safe saying that the pitcher in photo #2 has to be Francisco Butto. The reason the Jason Anderson guess cast some doubt is because he also pitched in that game. Anderson followed Mazone, Butto, and Jake Woods. I found a photo online of Francisco Butto pitching in Venezuela and wearing the same style eyeglasses that he’s wearing in my photos. It has to be Butto.
By the way, the Ironpigs lost both games to Syracuse that day. Pete Orr started game 1 at shortstop for the Chiefs and played third base in game 2.
Great stuff Decal! Thanks for this.
My unofficial records show that Butto wore uniform #25 during his brief stay with the Pigs. I show #19 being worn by:
Brennan King (2008)
Justin Lehr (2009)
Patrick Overholt (2009)
Jason Anderson (2010)
Kevin Nelson (2010)
maybe the year rules out Anderson as the suspect.
