I wasn’t feeling well today so I didn’t get to the game until the 5th inning. When I looked up at the scoreboard the Pigs were hitless and down by 4 runs. It didn’t last long though as Sandberg’s Strongmen came out to tie the game in the 6th.
A very very bad call on a potential 3rd strike with two outs gave Buffalo all they needed when the next batter launched the ball into the trough area putting the Bison ahead 6 to 4 that became final when the Pigs couldn’t rally further.
Umpires: HP: Alan Porter. 1B: Brad Myers. 2B: Chris Conroy. 3B: Chad Whitson.
On his return, Brian Bocock had a solid night going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.. showing he is capable of performing with the new Pig attitude.
Domonic Brown went 1 for 5.

Not to take anything away from Kevin Frandsen as a shortstop but Brian Bocock turned 2 doubleplays tonight that Frandsen would have never been able to make. The speed in which Bocock can transfer the ball from glove to throwing hand and then getting off a strong accurate throw is as good as any major league shortstop today. I’m not sure how many doubleplays the Ironpigs have turned this week but two 4-6-3 doubleplays tonight plus an ultraimpressive 3-6-4 doubleplay was as good as it gets. (note that Bocock was the middleman in all 3 of those doubleplays). I think I like Bocock and Frandsen up the middle.
The singing of God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch caught me off guard tonight but it was a nice emotional moment at Coca-Cola Park.
TV2 guys were somewhat surprised to see Porter thrown in the day of. They had been going with 3 umps.
