In an early game, the Ironpigs won an extra inning game today beating the SWB Yankees 5 to 4 in Moosic.
The game went 11 innings and Domonic Brown needed all 11 of them to continue his now 18 game hitting streak. Brown’s single in the 11th scored Erik Kratz and Mike Zagurski came on to earn his 6th save of the season.
Again, these Ironpigs played as a team with no distinct standout player. Larish homered and Moss Hogg collected his first triple of the season.
Of note – the Ironpig’s left 22 runners on base.
With this win the Pigs increase their lead in the IL North to 2 games and guarantee a series split. Game 3 of the 4 game set is scheduled for tomorrow night.

Does anyone know who can opt out on June 1st? I hope no one does, but just curious who can.

But I cannot speak to the accuracy of that information. Also, I’m unsure about how the suspended list impacts Frandsen; if I were him, I wouldn’t opt out of anything until I was eligible to play. But, if he knows already what the Phils will do after the suspension, I suppose he could get out now.
Some hot players down the line have cooled a bit: Savery, Overbeck to name two. However, promotions may impact our roster just as much, if they want to bring up Rizzotti again, or Overbeck, or Gosewisch, or a pitcher or two, guys could get pushed out… We’ll see. Right now, I feel like, as long as we have our manager…
I heard about the same as what Kram listed but I’d think it would be much easier to stay with a AAA 1st place team with good team chemistry than it would be to stay with a last place AAA team going nowhere. The only exception would likely be if a team had a spot for them on their major league roster.

And in other making-Emily-a-happy-girl news today, the Drillers won — increasing their lead over the NW Arkansas Naturals — and two separate Bleacher Report articles panned Mike Quade and basically said, “Ryno never woulda let ’em suck this bad.” Good, good day. 🙂
