Transactions 5-26-11

As Jose Contreras was recalled to the Phillies, they sent Herndon back to the Ironpigs.

Also, Niuman Romero was sent from LV to Reading.

    I was thinking last night that the Phillies might want to flip another arm or two in order to have fresh for the afternoon game today. Those with options, of course, like Stutes down, Mathieson or Zagurski up–or something like that. Probably not necessary, though, b/c Stutes only went like 0.2 last night, right? And with a fresh Truck, they’ll be OK today…unless it goes 19 again…

    A few days old, but I noticed Dan Johnson, the one-time MiLB home-run champ, was dropped from the Rays’ 40-man. He accepted assignment back to Durham.

    And Rodrigo Lopez loses to the Ironpigs last weekend and gets traded to the Cubs. Now he is back in the majors.
