Are You Sad Football is Soon Over? @SteelhawksPIFL

Come on, admit it. When your favorite NFL team was eliminated from the playoffs you stopped watching/caring.

You might watch the Superbowl, but not so much to see the Seahawks win, but for the commercials or the food or the friends or just for tradition.

Yeah, I’m a lifelong Seahawk’s fan so it’s not too difficult to change my cheer come March when I shift my attention to the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Arena football team!

The Steelhawks have a lot planned for 2014 but first let’s take a look at their newest commercial:

That sums up February and March for most Lehigh Valley sports fans. Baseball hasn’t quite begun. Roller derby is just warming up. Hockey won’t be here until next season. To bridge that gap we have Arena football!

The Steelhawk’s season officially begins on April 6th at Stabler Arena but they have much more planned before that.

This past weekend they held their final open tryout and I heard there were a few signings as a result. Word has gotten out in the arena football world that Lehigh Valley is the place to be for opportunities. We hear all about the Phillies pulling up favorites from the IronPigs but the Steelhawks have that “problem” as well. GM Mike Clark and Head Coach Chris Thompson put together high quality and talented teams that soon get noticed from higher leagues and even the NFL. We’ve seen many move up in the past few years.
