2014 @IronPigs Preliminary Promotion Scheduled Released (Full Slate!)

Initial thoughts:

Three bobbles during April–not to mention two in a row during the first home stand–shows the IronPigs are serious about the attendance crown this year!  Those April games are the toughest.  This should kick up the ticket sales a fair amount, but I wonder how many folks I’ll see leaving the stadium with their bobbles before the game even starts?  Should be interesting.

The IronPigs set sail on their 2014 home campaign on Monday, April 7 with the first-ever 5:05 p.m. start time in franchise history as well as a commemorative Opening Day T-Shirt giveaway presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications for the first 3,000 fans 18 and older. There are other great giveaways during the season’s initial homestand, including a Cody Asche bobblehead giveaway (April 9), a Jonathan Pettibone bobblehead giveaway (April 10), Friday Night Fireworks (April 11), an Andy Tracy Commemorative Cup giveaway (April 12) and even a Fleece Blanket keepsake (April 13).

The 72-game home schedule also features the return of the ever-popular Friday Night Fireworks Series, a boatload of brand-new and unrivaled giveaways as well as two appearances by the world-famous Phillie Phanatic.

The Friday Night Fireworks series begins on Friday, April 11 and continues during each and every IronPigs Friday home game during the 2014 season at Coca-Cola Park. In addition to the Friday Night Fireworks series, there are six other firework spectaculars planned, bringing the grand-total of shows to 17.  During the week-long stretch leading up to Independence Day, Coca-Cola Park will host four fireworks shows in seven days, including the Valley’s only 3-D Fireworks display on July 3.

In addition to the Opening Week bobbleheads, the IronPigs will also offer bobblehead giveaways of Ethan Martin (April 28) and Cesar Hernandez (June 9) for the first 3,000 fans 18 and older.  The Kevin Frandsen Wine Cork Topper coincides with Mother’s Day on May 11 while the Darin Ruf Garden Gnome giveaway (yes, we are giving away a Garden Gnome) is tabbed for June 19.

There are many other creative promotions set for next season, including:

  • ·         The largest photo in Minor League Baseball history (estimated at over 20 billion pixels) is earmarked for Saturday, August 2 during Gigapixel photo night at Coca-Cola Park! Following the game, all fans in attendance can go online and tag themselves in the photo, share the view with their friends and even enter to win spectacular prizes.
  • ·         The first-ever on-field photo day, allowing fans to take photos and create memories with their favorite IronPigs players, is slated forTuesday, May 13.
  • ·         Pirate & Princess Night featuring a Pirate & Princess Pillow Case giveaway for the first 2,000 children 17 and under attending theSaturday, August 16 game.

The Heritage Series resumes in 2014 and includes Irish Heritage Night featuring an Irish Heritage Night T-Shirt giveaway on April 24 and German Heritage Night with a German Stein Glass giveaway on June 16. Jewish Heritage Night is highlighted by Kosher food offerings and the opportunity for groups to reserve an IronPigs cap giveaway with Hebrew lettering and is tabbed for May 22.

While baseball is America’s pastime, the IronPigs will also celebrate a wide array of other sports in 2014 with Hockey Night (May 10; Hockey Cap giveaway), Soccer Night (August 4; Soccer Ball giveaway) and Football & Cheerleading Night (August 25; IronPigs Football giveaway) all on the promo line-up.

Other handy, functional and first-time giveaways include a Coffee Mug (April 22), Pizza Cutter (May 14), Barbeque Set (June 10), Dish Towel (June 23), Ice Cream Bowl (June 29) and Duffle Bag (August 17).

A number of popular items return to the giveaway slate such as Magnet Schedules (April 11), Caps (Camo, May 25; Youth, June 3; “Pigs Fly”, June 17); Trucker Style, August 24), T-Shirts (July 22), Piggy Banks (June 22), Youth Replica Jerseys (August 3), Wall Calendars (August 26) and Foam Fingers as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Night on August 27. The ever-popular Team Photo & Autograph Session also returns on June 4.

No promotional schedule would be complete without the world famous Phillie Phanatic who will once again entertain with a pair of appearances set for June 5 and July 31 at Coca-Cola Park.

Finally, Dog Days return with four “Bark in the Park” games on April 12, April 28, July 21 ($1 Hot Dogs in celebration of National Hot Dog Day) and August 26.

Coca-Cola Park’s featured Weekly Promotions and Group Theme Nights for the 2014 season will be announced in the near future.

Regular starting times remain identical with 2013 as Monday through Friday games remain predominately scheduled for 7:05 p.m.  The only exceptions are for Opening Day on April 7 (5:05 p.m.), Education Day #1 on April 23 (10:35 a.m.), Education Day #2 (April 29), Education Day #3 (May 12) and Camp Day on August 5 (11:35 a.m.). Saturday games are still set for 6:35 p.m. and Sunday games are scheduled for1:35 p.m. through June 29 and 5:35 p.m. from July 21 until the end of the regular season with the only exception a 1:35 p.m. tilt on Sunday, August 24.

Single-game tickets for the 2014 season go on sale during the club’s annual National Pig Day festivities at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, March 1 at 9 a.m. Single-game tickets can also be purchased at ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS (7447) beginning at 1 p.m. on March 1.
