Wherever Jorge Velandia is this year I’m sure he’s on the DL with a shin contusion. đ
Kris Benson is also a free agent. Last I heard was that the Nationals appeared to be interested but that was several weeks ago.
Velendia was fun last season. When the Nation made a trip to Scranton he was coaching first base. We were chanting his name, Hip hip Jor-Hay’ing him and nothing got him to acknowledge us until someone yelled.. “Hey Jorge, turn your hearing aid up!” He turned around and waved getting a cheer from most of the 1st Base side fans.
