2010 Ironpigs Media Guide

I went by the stadium this morning and saw them stocking shelves with the new 2010 media guide and couldn’t resist to take a quick look at one.

I bought a media guide in 2008 but didn’t shell out the hefty $15 for the book last year. It was clumsy, it was cluttered and just didn’t seem worth it.

The same is not true of the 2010 media guide. It is beautiful! The pages are all high quality glossy stock and with the guide spiral bound, it makes navigating the guide so much easier, not to mention to extend the life of the book.

I believe I was the first to purchase the guide, the cashier didn’t even have it in the computer yet… I’m glad I went in today. If you get a chance, get yourself a copy, it has great info and looks good too. Also, check out Director of Field Operations, Bill Butler’s calendar of different field designs over the past 2 years.

That’s awesome, Dan. How much was it?

Thanks, also. I picked mine up earlier today and just spent the last two hours memorizing it. OK, not memorizing it, but reading way more if it than I needed to. It’s cool to have–I’m sure the NN will find some incriminating info in there for some opposing players.

PS: So I guess Sellers and Bozied to Reading. Wise to LHV. Guzman out. Duffy unknown. Decal, can you detail roster moves? Any other info?

Just read Schuler’s blog: It was Berry and Bozied and Dorta to Reading.

He speculates the following roster is set barring surprises:

IF: Tracy, Valdez, Ransom, Bocock, Maza, Sellers

        OF:Wise, Mayberry, Thompson, Duffy
SP: Mazone, Duckworth, Vogelsong, Savery, Bump

RP: Zagurski, Mathieson, Gordon, Woods, Anderson, Concepcion, Wassserman

Savery sched to start Tuesday 222Exhib.

      • Can’t wait to see what the team looks like on Tuesday and I wonder how many reserve players will be in the clubhouse waiting to find out which uniform to put on in the later innings of the game.

  3. The SWB Yankees let you look at =their= media guide on their website…albeit with Issuu which can be configured to prevent, or at least make reeeeeally difficult, downloading all or part to your machine…

    • If you’ve had the misfortune to be on the SWB Yankees email list you will have found they are going marketing crazy. Granted the deals they are sending out are incredible, if you live in that area. Comes across almost desperate to sell tickets. We’ll be roadtripping to at least one game in each Pig series in Scranton this summer.

My boys and I are eyeing Thurs 8/26, but I haven’t bought the tix yet.

      • 8/26 or 8/28? I saw the famous chicken, i.e. San Diego Chicken will be there on the 28th in Scranton. Their promotions schedule is sad compared to the Ironpigs. I would like to see Birdzirk back in the area again soon. That was good!

We’re eyeing Thursday 8/26–although, as I said, I haven’t purchased the tix. (and while I don’t personally need the promotional stuff, I just pointed it out as a possible way for the SWBY to generate some buzz and fill some seats)
I usually take Friday off, so it’s no big deal for me to have the kiddos out late that Thursday night. I already have tix for Thursday 8/19 at CBP for Giants/Phils that I got during the presale, so we’re thinking we can make it two Thursdays in a row…
Anyway, is that Legends restaurant open there at PNC this year? There used to be a link on the web site, but I couldn’t find it again. Perhaps I’ll call them after I get the tickets.
