Pigs Lose to Knights

My favorite Pig fan from Florida was in attendance tonight and although she didn’t even come out to say hi to me (insert hurt feelings here) we did have some special visitors to the Noise Nation at tonight’s game. A friendly couple spent the last few innings with us who turned out to be Cody Ransom’s parents. Good people and hope they enjoy their visit to the Lehigh Valley.

Rich Thompson and Neil Sellers both had 3 hit games.

Andy Tracy hit a monster home run over the trough in right field.

Really this game was all Savery. He allowed 5 runs in the first and never recovered. He did pitch well the rest of the game but that still doesn’t make up for getting slammed like he did. His record now stands at 1 win 5 losses.

Ehren Wasserman also allowed a 3 run homer in the 8th.

Same story. This team just isn’t playing well. Is it time for a coaching change? We haven’t seen Greg Gross leave the dugout in ages and Huppert just doesn’t seem to have the fire he has shown in 2008. Only time will tell.

The Noise Nation will be at Pitcher’s tomorrow at 5:00pm for the Pregame show. Hope you can make it there.

Oink!

    Randomness:

If Nelson Figueroa puts the Ironpigs at 25 players, I know who “should” be let go to put the roster back down to 24.

I heard someone mumble “he’s going to fit right in here” after Willy Taveras led off by striking out on 4 pitches while the bat never left his shoulder.

And I’ve probably said this at least 100 times since 2008 but if Andy Tracy pulled the ball more often like he did tonight, he’d easily hit 40 homeruns a year for the Ironpigs. All those warning track fly balls to center field would be well over the Bud Light Trough.

Does any team in the International League have a coaching staff that could compete on a big league playing field at a higher level than Chris Chambliss (.279-185-972), Rich Dotson (111-113 4.23) and Gary Ward (.276-130-597) of the Charlotte Knights?

Finally, from my vantage point looking almost directly down the third base line, that 9th inning double by Melvin Dorta looked foul. I’d be interested in hearing a comment from anyone who watched the game on tv2 and saw a replay.

When Ed Ott managed the Allentown Ambassadors, he had more energy than Huppert. I agree as well, why does Greg Gross never come out of the dugout? Nichols is the only Coach I have seen in the three years that could Coach in the bigs. Enough already, HUPPERT MUST GO!!!

  4. Could you guys tell if Wassermann’s name was botched on his unie, as Provence/Schaeffer seemed to think it was, when he was in the pen?
