I’ve been getting rumors and new information all morning but after sorting through and considering all sources the following seems to be the most convincing of them. Don’t take this as absolute truth, just trying to piece together a possible scenario.
The new outfits were designed by the same person who designed the Philly Phanatic.
The team requested that the new outfits be identical to the old. Multiple pictures were sent with.
What we saw is what they got back.
So the moral of this post is be careful who you look to blame for this, whether positive or negative. Haven’t heard any details but the Front office staff might be as surprised and frustrated with this as we are.
Hope for no rain tonight for the retro hat giveaway. I saw the hat last night and it’s a nice looking white Allentown Cardinals hat. Not looking good as far as the weather goes but we can hope! 🙂

i for one will refuse to acknowledge the new mascots. if indeed they were designed by the same person who designed the phanatic, all i can say is someone appears to be quite full of themselves!

Sounds like a CYA excuse to me. Front Office is to blame as they have the final say on what makes it out onto the field.
If they didn’t see them till the new team giraffe-pigs made it onto the field thats just plain stupid

They really remind me of those animatronic Country Bears Jamboree characters.
I wasn’t at the Tuesday game so I saw them briefly for the first time tonight on the concourse right after the game was postponed. Ferrous’s head looked too small for his body and FeFe’s neck reminded me of E.T.
Please send them back. Your fans are NOT happy….Whoever approved this needs to be fired on the spot!!
The fans are not happy but no one needs to be fired over this. Few people work as hard or as well as the Pig’s front office staff. Most of their decisions over three seasons have been the right ones. Just correct this problem by constructing new mascot heads that better match the look of the old ones.
The only thing is I think it’s sort of a one piece costume. They see out of the necks. So, they would have to replace everything….
How can someone seriously think that would go over well with the fans. I understand some people don’t like change, but there is so much merchandising stuff that would need to be changed, it just doesn’t seem like it was a good change.
Will the team be updating the team website with the new GiraffePigs mascots?
They almost have to; the differences are VERY noticeable.

FeFe used to be cute. You cant tell me they dont still have the old costumes. Just send them back out in those and take the hit money wise on the new ones.
Have a friend who is an usher at the park. Mascots cost $4000 each, and he said they are keeping them because of the price. Take it for what its worth.
They are by far worse than any mascot I have ever seen, including the thing the Scranton Yankees have.
Maybe we can get the Zooperstars to be our full time mascots. That would be awesome.
They are bad, but i don’t know if they are as bad as that Rally guy… ? 🙂
that’s kinda dumb to keep something that sucks just because you paid a lot of money for it. perhaps not as foolish as not being 100% sure as to what you committed to buying… well, i need to get back to eating that giant bag of manure, it tastes terrible, but it cost me a lot of money.
