Scott Mathieson, who was unsually wild tonight, gave up a walk off grand slam to blow his 2nd save and earn his 2nd loss.

lucky me, I got to watch it on TV. The team played so well tonight, except for the 2 errors.

I will say.. the stands there were very empty from what I saw.

We can tell how dead it is there on radio… tho the equipment the Pigs are using to feed the broadcast back here has something to do with it as well. If the crowd isn’t loud enough, and Matt isn’t talking, you don’t hear much of anything.

That is something I can second from first hand experience Saturday night. Even though I’ll admit the weather wasn’t the greatest (with 2 rain delays), it was one of the Bison’s Jersey auctions and also Star Wars night at the stadium, and there were still a TON of empty seats. Plus the crowd was very blah with the whole game. The biggest cheers were coming from Laura and I; even when the Bisons had some big plays the crowd was very mellow. The announcer at CCF was even lack luster compared to our own Tim. The trip really made Laura and I appreciate everything that CCP offers the fans.
I take partial blame for this loss because I already had it written in my book as a win with a comment that it was the 5th straight win vs. Buffalo.
I can’t speak for the apparent fan apathy in Buffalo but keep in mind they’re playing in a ballpark that holds over 18,000, so even an attendance of 10,000 would seem sparse at just 55% of capacity. The official Monday attendance was 5,056 which leaves nearly 13,000 empty seats.
Brandon Pinckney released this morning. Guess there will be no Pinckney & the Brain double play combo…
Reading’s website also stated that Staviski (sp?) voluntarily retired too.
