Transactions 7-7-10

The Ironpigs announced today via Twitter that Nate Bump has been placed on the DL with a viral infection. (Jared, guess it’s good you didn’t get your jersey signed the other night)

Replacing him on the roster from Reading is Michael Schwimer. Schwimer is primarily a reliever and has been doing ok in Reading this season.

Also, I may have failed to mention that JA Happ has been assigned to the Ironpigs roster following his return from the DL. Heard he’s not too Happ-y about this but it seems to be the right move. Rather be healthy than keep pushing through an injury.

OinK!

Keoni De Renne must be a jack of all trades. The team roster at ironpigsbaseball.com currently lists him as a member of the pitching staff.

I guess Michael Schwimer at 6’8″ will take over at center with Domonic Brown moving to power forward. His 58 strikeouts in 40 innings looks impressive. 5 wins and 11 saves all in relief sounds nice too.

Schwimer was replaced at Reading by Clearwater Threshers closer Justin De Fratus. He was 2-0 1.79 with 15 Saves at Clearwater. Also promoted to Reading was second baseman Harold Garcia who just had his Florida State League record setting 37 game hitting streak come to an end on Monday.

A healing injury can be a source of great frustration for the player, but, you are correct in your analysis, Kehl.

  6. Now just before 4:00 east, Timmy D. tweets Bump is NOT going on the DL…
