Thanks to Noise Nation member Matt Metal (Don’t forget to nominate him for the LVMA for best college DJ) who sent me a note today that Kyle Kendrick has joined JA Happ on the Ironpigs and that Drew Carpenter will be called up to the Phillies.

This isn’t really a surprise with Kendrick’s outing last night. My long term thoughts on Kendrick are the same. He needs to become less predictable in his pitching. Very surprised this hasn’t improved with Jamie Moyer in the dugout with him and noone can question that Kendrick hasn’t been working hard to remedy this. Hoping this AAA stint is short and he becomes effective again.
The next time you complain that a prospect isn’t advanced quickly enough.. think about Kyle Kendrick. He was great until the league figured him out and he wasn’t deep enough to adapt. Those minor league years develop skills and experience and are invaluable to a player.

They Should of called up J.A Happ nothing against drew but the Phillies Really Need J.A Happ back This is why i Hate Ruben Amaro Jr Happ is Proven in the majors and Carpenter is not
Happ isn’t ready to pitch in the majors yet. His control is terrible.
Jared, you’re a great kid…and we all love Happ, but I gotta agree with B&B here. Happ has not gotten his control back yet. He is not ready to be in the Majors right now, if Ruben had pulled him up I think he would do worse than Kendrick was doing. Amaro made a good move here, instead of rushing someone back that could have done more damage, he brings up someone that has been pitching well and isn’t coming back from a substantial amount of time away.
I would have been even more upset if Amaro hadn’t sent Kendrick down today. He SUCKED last night.
Should of called Happ up other then Drew nothing against drew but the Phillies Need J.A happ he is proven in the Majors and Drew is not. Not Supprised they sent down Kyle kendrick
And meanwhile, Jon Albaladejo, who saved the All-Star Game for the IL, is being called up to the Yankees as Andy Pettitte goes to the DL.
Anthony Slama, the winning pitcher in the All-Star Game for the IL also was called up to the Twins today.
Given the way Kendrick has been pitching, it was bound to happen. I’m surprised he made it this long staying up in the majors.
As for Happ…he has proven he’s NOT ready to pitch in the majors again.
Happ is back! He was pulled after 3 innings tonight and Phillies announcers said they expect him to pitch on Saturday in Philly.
It was nice to see Happ throw just 44 pitches (34 for strikes) in his 3 innings. In his last start he threw 100 pitches in 5 innings. He appears to be ready.
