RHP John Wayne Ennis has been released by Philadelphia.
The target of our trivia jokes and an original Ironpig… we haven’t seen Ennis all to much lately, but we will be sad to see him go.

The Phillies, who did not have to by rule, paid Ennis at the Major League minimum rate of $ 400,00 for the 2009 season while he was on the Disabled List all year.
Hopefully, Ennis put some of that away…
They can hire my hubby and put him on the DL for a season. We’ll take it and put it aside 😉
With the July 31 trade deadline approaching, many people at the Thursday morning game last week began speculating when Durham ace starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson was removed after just 3 innings in a scoreless game. I guess we now have the answer as Hellickson was promoted to the Tampa Bay Rays and will be making his major league debut tonight as the starting pitcher vs. the Minnesota Twins.
It looks like we won’t be seeing a former IronPig after all this coming weekend.
Today, the Braves released Willy Tavares.
