Brandon Duckworth signed with the Red Sox. Looks like no more duck pond..

Gustavo Chacin elected to be a free agent from the Astros.

Fabio Castro signed with the Mariners

That’s all we got so far. No word on Andy Tracy yet.

Reminder – still collecting recipes for our charity cook book. Send them over 🙂

  1. With an .069 batting average in 9 games, Domonic Brown decided he saw enough of the Dominican Winter League and packed it in. He plans to rest at home so he is rejuvinated by the time spring training arrives.

HMMMMMM—three days ago i posted with the Dunn signing, i said werth was going to get $18 mil a year–7 years, $126MIL–my Allen high diploma, says 18MIL a year–haha—-seriously–18 Mil a year is a joke, but wait til Crawford gets $21 mil–one last note, looks like the caravan is going to have Mr. Manuel, Mr. Sandberg, and believe it or not Mr. Amaro, from what i hear———-me and the boys are going to spring training from March 14-24,IS ANYONE GOING TO BE DOWN THERE? BERT

  3. The only way a non-contending team can compete for the top free agents is to offer them lots more money than the big boys. Unfortunately for Washington, Jayson Werth isn’t a top free agent, he’s just one of the better players available on the free agent market this year. As Jim Bouton wrote in “Ball Four”, you gotta, “smoke ’em inside”. I can only imagine what it’s going to take for the Cardinals to sign Albert Pujols to an extension next year.

  4. Crazy contract for the Nationals.. I have a feeling this will go down in history as a poor decision. Good call Bert! I won’t be making spring training this year. 😦
