Overall, the starters (Looking at opening day rosters; This isn’t an exact computation) for 2011 are collectively 27 years younger than the 2010 squad. Granted the difference between a 34 yr old and a 31 yr old is not that great, but when you have a generally younger team it seems the athleticism is on a higher level.
OinK!

Younger players have more athleticism (read – speed)…but less experience and can be more prone to unnecessary mental errors that can cost a team ball games.
Of course, the IronPigs have free red balloons (and sometimes, blue) so winning is a relative thing here on the East Side of Allentown.
Besides, we triumph no matter what.
Yes! Triumph no matter what! (and we’re not talking about the motorcycle) 🙂
Whew!…I feel so much better about the IronPigs now that you got us all a new slogan for our team to live by…I was really struggling to support a chronically won/loss percentage-challenged ballclub.
🙂
