The Pigs got off to an early start and continued deep into the game scoring 8 runs by the 6th inning tonight against the Gwinnett Braves!
Belliard sent a 3 run HR out and Kratz followed it with his own a couple pitches later.
Kratz finished 3 for 5 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored.
The real story of the game is pitcher Brian Gordon. Gordon threw 7 innings allowing only 2 hits and no runs on 67 pitches.
If you do the math, 11 strike outs alone equals 33 pitches. (Not saying there wasn’t a few balls mixed in) That leaves 34 pitches for the other 10 outs. An incredible performance by Gordon who became 4-0 on the season. Gordon also went 2 for 4 batting!
Schwimer came on to finish the game, adding 3 more strikeouts.
The Pigs look to take the series win tomorrow at 7:00pm against the Braves and we will again be holding a Live Chat to stay up to date and enjoy the away game together as die hard fans! Stay tuned for a link.

It was slightly hotter today in Lawrenceville, at least if you believe AccuWeather, than in the LV, but the hottest thing in either place right now is BG.
To borrow a line from my neighbors to the southeast: Whoo, ‘Pigs! Sooiee!
I can definitely remember when Lou Holtz’s ARKANSAS upset Barry Switzer’s OKLAHOMA in the Orange Bowl, 1977 I beleive…Ben Cowan was the star RB for Razorbacks and later had a brief spell with Philadelphia Eagles.
Okay, had to look it up…
BEN COWINS was Arkansas star RB but he was suspended from 1978 Orange Bowl with two other players as a result of a murky incident in the dorms involving a female student….
…Cowins’ replacement for the game, ROLAND SALES, set a new Orange Bowl record with 205 yards rushing as the Razorbacks shocked the Sooners, featuring Heisman Trophy winner BILLY SIMS, 31-6.
Still considered to be the greatest win in Arkansas football history.
Cowins was drafted in the 4th round of the 1979 by the Philadelphia Eagles but was cut in training camp that summer. Cowins did spend the ’79 season with the Kansas City Chiefs and spent the 1980 season with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
RON CALCAGNI was the Arkansas QB — trivia material for the IronPigs radio broadcast tonight?
Every bit as interesting as New York Yankees crap (or Mets crap from pre and post game guy at studio), if you ask me…
“SOOIEE PIG!”
There it is — the new battle cry!
Thank you kindly, University of Arkansas Razorbacks…
