He only pitched 2 innings in that start on 8/22/07. It was a rehab start after Tommy John surgery #1. I think it was 8 days later that he reinjured the elbow in a relief appearance with Reading which eventually led to Tommy John surgery #2.

Speaking of pitching, I caught our old buddy Brian Gordon today on MLB network pitching for the Yankees against the Rangers. He didn’t do too badly today pitching 5.1 innings giving up 2 ER’s, walking 3 and getting 3 K’s. Unfort. one of those runs was on a hit batter with the bases loaded. He did get some praise from the announcers and even the crowd was chanting his name as he was trying to get out of a bases loaded jam in the 4th. Even though it pains me to see him in a Yankee uniform, I’m really happy for BG to get another shot at the Big Leagues. I got to know BG and he’s a great person and a class act. I wish him well!!
