IronPig Game Results 7/9/11 – Not too Shabby

The Pigs jumped onto the Syracuse Cheifs tonight with a fury. Our Pigs stroked 14 hits for 6 runs in a 6 to 0 victory tonight in Syracuse.

Thompson, Barfield, Young, Kratz and Overbeck all had a multi-hit game. Thompson also got his 3rd triple of the season.

For the Worley Bird’s cameo visit back to the Pigs, he lasted 6 innings allowing 3 hits, striking out 3 and walking none. Worley threw 73 pitches, 47 of them for strikes.

Redding and Zagurski came on to close out the game.

The Pigs have one final game tomorrow in Syracuse before the All Star break. They will have Monday – Wednesday of this week off returning on Thursday for a quick 2 game homestand vs. Syracuse. From there they depart to, where else, Syracuse for 2 more game before heading to Pawtucket for 4. While July is very skimpy on home games for us, it will be made up to us with a monster 10 game homestand beginning on the 22nd. (Columbus, Pawtucket, Buffalo).

Don’t forget the season ticket holder picnic/All Star game viewing party is on Tuesday.

OinK!

Reminder, Sarge… 3-game series at home; Thursday’s game became a doubleheader.

I did some math since the no hitter on Wednesday:
    Pigs are 2-1, 19 runs, 36 hits, 15-34 RISP (.440), 26 LOB, 11 BB, 23 K
Pitching staff: 19 K, 19 hits, 6 BB, 2 HR. and I think an ERA of 3.00 (9 ER over 27 IP). Correct me if I’m wrong on the ERA.

  3. Not to forget that the quick 2 game homestand vs. Syracuse beginning Thursday is actually a 3 game homestand. Doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 6:05. It’s a makeup of the April 12 postponed game.
That could be tough on our allstars with a 9 PM game in Salt Lake City on Wednesday and then a doubleheader in Allentown starting at 6:05 on Thursday.
