Food Challenge at CCP?

If you’ve been following IronPig’s Executive Chef Jan Giejda’s Twitter account, @IronPigsChef, you know that he is preparing a monster food challenge for us hungry fans.

Some photos recently posted:

The roll

Add some bacon

Add burger, cheese and onion rings

The finished burger, next to a 2 liter bottle.

It appears to be a giant cheeseburger with a mass of bacon, cheese and onion rings on a bun the size of a basketball.

So far, no name for this monster burger has been released.

I do have to admit I am not a fan of this year’s tagline, “Pig Out” (I would rather cheer for our Pigs being safe) but seeing these photos makes me want to truly pig out.

OinK!

That is a heart attack waiting to happen. I’m sorry, but why can’t they focus on some more healthy options?

    • While I think the “challenge” is a cool idea.. I agree healthier stuff should be available. Maybe a tour of Citizen’s Bank Park for healthy food would be in order. 🙂

Is Jan G. a fan of Adam Richman (“Man v Food” on Travel Channel) ? Our area isn’t that big on chowdown challenges.

The roll size-wise resembles the large ‘hog’ roll from Wally’s Deli, at 17th & Tilghman (I’ve never asked where he gets them, but I believe it’s in the local area)

  3. Reminds me of the Monster at Middlegate Crossing on U.S. 50 in Nevada, except the Monster has “eyes” fashioned from big cocktail olives impaled on extra-long toothpicks, which make it look vaguely Muppetish. What’s the layer between the lettuce and the onion rings?

    • The more I look at it, the mystery layer seems to be the CCP version of pork bbq. Not a fan of the sauce. Pulled pork here would be nice but not mixed with the heartburn enraging sauce mixed in.
