Per Matt Gelb on Twitter (@magelb), Roy Oswalt will make a rehab start for the IronPigs Wednesday at Coca Cola Park.
This could be some much needed pitching help against the second place PawSox.
It’s funny, last night we were talking about the time Pedro Martinez made a rehab start for the Pigs. The media frenzy, the packed ballpark, people pushing and shoving to get autographs (classy as always) and Martinez’s first pitch landing in someone’s beer behind the right field wall.
Oh the memories…
OinK!

According to David Hale (Philled-In), Polanco might be joining Oswalt on Wednesday as well.
Take that, Pawsox!
Actually, makes me nervous as I’m sure Oswalt and Polanco care less about the ‘Pigs playoff race than I do. I’m sure they want to do well, but they’re ‘rehabbing,’ –not trying to win a game.
Ryan Lawrence tweeted “Oswalt will OFFICIALLY begin rehab assignment at @ironpigs on Wednesday. Just announced in press box”
I’m hearing he’ll be limited to 60 pitches. That pitch count may get him through 4-5 innings at best.
