The Pigs lost tonight in their final game with the Durham Bulls by a score of 4-6. This loss theoretically places them in a tie with the Pawtucket Red Sox who did not play today due to rain. The official status of that game is “postponed”. If it becomes part of the playoff picture I would guarantee it will be made up at the end of the season.
The Pigs now hold a 65 and 51 record where Pawtucket has a 64 and 50 record.
The Pigs head to Norfolk tomorrow. Oink.

This stat says a lot on this road trip:
On this road trip (7 games so far, @ SWB, @ Durham), IronPigs are 12-56 (.214) RISP, 50 LOB. 3 wins, 4 losses on this road trip.
Game will NOT be made up. The teams do not play again and in the minors, games are cancelled if teams don’t play each other again. Besides, both have just one more off-day but not the same day.
I noticed the Postponed was changed to Cancelled this morning. So what happens if Pawtucket and another team end a tie in first place?

Interesting series beginning today between Gwinnett and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In the race for the wildcard spot, the Ironpigs hold a 2 game lead over Gwinnett and a 3 game lead over SWB. Indianapolis and Louisville are 5 games back.
