IronPig Game Results 8/14/11 – Deja Vu

The Pigs won the suspended game by a final score of 2-1 on Cody Overbeck’s walk off home run! Michael “Phear the Phro” Schwimer blew the save in the top of the 9th but earned his 9th win of the season. (I wonder if he had this planned 🙂 This places him in a tie with Feierabend for most wins on the team. At 9-1 with a 1.88 ERA, Schwimer is far leading the team as pitcher of the year for the Pigs.

Game 2 tonight got started and then it was suspended. Delwyn Young even asked to borrow our umbrella hat.

So tomorrow will not be a triple header, but another double header. Both 7 innings. The continuation of tonight’s game will begin at 6:05pm.

Oink!

That was classic when Delwyn Young asked for the rain hat!! Despite being waterlogged, we are having such a blast at the Coke. Always expect the unexpected. Get ready for Gobbler Day tomorrow and another double dip!

    Oink, Oink
And in honor of Gobbler Day…Gobble, Gobble!

Not sure what it looked like to you guys in the outfield, but Overbeck’s HR did not look like home rune distance from behind homeplate. That ball just kept going. Divine intervention? Not sure about that. Whatever be the case, a huge HR, to say the least, and hopefully will give Cody more confidence for the rest of the year.

  3. I thought for a moment we were going to once again get Majewski’d in the last inning by the Mud Hens, but Divine intervention or whatever, walkoffs are cool when you’re on the winning end. Congratulations to Cody Overbeck on his most significant hit since joining the Ironpigs.

I watched the game on Milb.TV and saw the HR on TV. I was very happy for Overbeck and also happy for the IronPigs. Maybe this HR is something that can carry them into the rest of the season.

Pawtucket is doing it, why not the IronPigs ??

    • They sure as heck need more timely longball, if that’s what you mean. As for putting the local TV online, that’s based on how much $$$ SE wants. Hens aren’t ashamed to put all their games on the net.

Tonight’s game (and the past few nights) is scheduled to be broadcast online as well. Maybe SE finally worked something out with Milb.com. Anyway we can get someone to confirm?

    • Mudhens’ website says ALL of their games, home and away, are on MiLB.com. I don’t know how SE figures in that setup, beyond that their cams would be used.
