Coming Soon to a Ballpark Near You….

Irene:  Pigapalooza Part Deux

Rain or shine, rain or shine,  it’s on it’s on.   No wait.  Nevermind, it’s off.

No game on Sunday per Matt Provence on Twitter.   No big surprise to me.  The 2 primary routes from my home to the ballpark are both closed due to flooding.

See y’all at the doubleheader beginning at 6:05 on Monday.   Let’s hope the sequel turns out better than the original.

    WHERE IS THE 2012 SCHEDULE???????????????//

  2. The difference is that this game was never “rain or shine.” It was “stay tuned for further updates,” and “as of now.” It was clear to me at least that it could still be cancelled/postponed.

Good question about the schedule. Guess I’ll find out when I get my magnet(s) tomorrow.

  3. I never had a problem with any decision they made, really, just how they did it last year. Don’t say “rain or shine” if there’s a type of weather you cannot withstand–it wasn’t even an Irene. Don’t say “players will not be available for autographs” if there’s a scenario where they ARE available for autographs. You can always qualify with “We don’t expect that players will be available…”

This time was better. I seem to remember the reading, “stay tuned on twitter and facebook and the web site for further developments” meaning it was never set in stone. They did a good job here, in my opinion.

As far as the travel, both teams have to be here anyway. Travel reports are available via cell phone and web on the bus. Things can be modified along the way. I hope they didn’t take any unnecessary risks, but they weren’t heading for the shore, and as long as they avoided flooded areas–highways should have been fine.
