The Steelhawks announced today the signing of Offensive Lineman Qasim Mitchell.
Mitchell, a 4 year veteran of the NFL, last played for the Chicago Bears and made his NFL debut in 2003. His 6’5 347lbs size should create a nice wall of protection solidifying the Steelhawks offensive line.
Welcome to Mitchell! Glad to have you on the team!
Also, the Steelhawks have re-signed Defensive Back Roshawn Marshall. A late season signing, Marshall played in only 4 games but came out with 3 interceptions and 134 return yards. He was the key player against the Fairbanks Grizzlies returning 2 interceptions for touchdowns in the upset win.
My hats off to Coach Britt, Mike Clark and the whole Steelhawk staff for their hard work in getting a quality team together!

Welcome to the nest Mitchell! I too am glad you’re here, and welcome back Roshawn. Glad to have you for the full season. You gave us alot of excitement at the end of last season!!
I too credit the Steelhawks, Coach Britt, and Mike Clark for all these off season moves. Perhaps we’re in for a Magic Carpet Ride this coming season like we had with the IronPigs! GO STEELHAWKS!!!
I’d have sworn seeing either Mike Clark or coach Britt on TV2 Sports Scene mentioning a guy who “started 16 games” for the Bears. Is this the guy?
He’s the only player signed who started 16 games with the Bears.. so I’m guessing yes. 🙂
