Special Vixens, Horns, Bells & a Broken Siren

Another great night our with our favorite Roller Derby gals!

The Noise Nation and Roller Derby fans filled the Independence Family Fun Center in Schnecksville tonight. We brought the noise, they brought the excitement and in the end… another heartbreaking last minute loss.

Speaking strategy with coach Rose Beef after the game we found there was a brilliant play planned and executed by the opposition. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat, smile and remember that move for your next bout. Great effort by both teams.

Sadly, our recently aquired air raid siren met the same fate as our “Fling-O” launch a ball slingshot and broke tonight. I believe a repair is possible but disappointed in the quality of the siren itself. Of note, we still haven’t figured out how to play the new bugle either.

The night was far from over after the bout. Both teams and the Noise Nation headed to Grumpy’s BBQ on Mauch Chunk road for the after party. Great food, great friends and impressive sportsmanship.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE ROLLER DERBY!!!

You should too. Next bout I believe is in November, so stay tuned. Also might have some photos of the event soon too.

  1. Hot chicks on wheels, knocking the crap out of each other all night — how can a guy NOT love that? 🙂

Oh did I mention, I LOVE ROLLER DERBY TOO!!! Yes it was another great night with our beloved Roller Girls. Disappointed with the loss but we’ll get em next time. Sorry I didn’t come to the after bout party. Had some parking issues aka, couldn’t find one, most def. next time. Thanks to the Roller Girls for the excitement and for the appreciation they showed the Noise Nation before and after the bout, we LOVE YOU GIRLS and have our FULL support. Special thank you to the visiting team, the Star City Roller Girls for a bout well played and also for the appreciation they showed us at Noise Nation! Kinda hard to not root for them too. I’ll tell ya these girls have caught me by storm!! They work real hard and show real sportsmanship and deserve your support. As I watch, I’m slowing learning the game and after talking with Coach Rose Beef, I understand how the ending went down, thanks Coach!! Soon I’ll understand fully what’s going on. Now matter what, this is a BLAST!!!

Speaking of sportsmanship, both teams showed and the fans showed alot of class when one of the Star City Roller Girls got injured. The place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop and I liked the idea of how both teams dropped down to one knee to “cover” the injured player out of respect and dignity and to avoid any picture taking. It’s hard enough to see someone get hurt and to see them motionless or in agony they don’t need to be photographed either. As the announcer said, “These girls play and work hard but sometimes accidents do happen.” Kudos to both teams, you can really see the sportsmanship and the bond they all have. They are competitors on the rink and friends off!! This is also why I give them my support too!! They’re a great bunch of peaple. Get em next time ladies!!!

    And that’s Jimmy T’s take!!

PS said a little prayer for our dearly departed siren!! lol
