It’s Post-World Series time and teams will have to start working on their 2012 talent. A part of this is the Free Agent declarations. Some of these folks are out of options or simply signed a 1 year contract.

Hey, that reminds me: How’s Larish doing? Haven’t heard any updates.
Larish is a free agent and tweeted “Where am I headed?” on November 5th. That’s all I’ve heard.
DAN—the real question is will the COKE have dippin dots in 2012? like i said, im bored
I’m going to say a weak maybe… they are looking towards bankruptcy.

I have to say I never cared for them. They have the consistancy of wax and very little flavor. I’ll stick to real stuff.
And if you’re bored, come on out to the Roller Derby Triple Header tomorrow!
If you want to know what bored is, try sitting home for 5 days in a house without electricity. Power went off Saturday night and came back on Thursday evening. For the past few days it was warmer outside than it was inside.
I’d take about 8 of those free agents back with the Ironpigs for 2012.
“For the past few days it was warmer outside than it was inside.” –Decal
How the heck does that happen?
Insulation will keep air inside cool even if the temp outside warms up.
Raul Valdes, the 2012 edition of Juan Perez?
According to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports the Phillies signed Raul Valdes to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Valdes is a LHP with a lifetime record in the majors of 3-4 4.78. He pitched very briefly with the Cardinals and Yankees in 2011 but spent most of the year with the Memphis Redbirds in the PCL. He was 6-2 4.73 with Memphis and had 62 strikeouts in 59 innings pitched.
Also saw that Tuffy Gosewisch has re-signed with the Phillies.
With the developing news story about Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos being kidnapped in his native Venezuela I thought I’d check to see what familiar names I could find on the rosters of winter league teams in Venezuela. Freddy Galvis (.234), Harold Garcia (N/A), Cesar Hernandez (.266), Carlos Rivero (.239) are all native Venezuelans while Justin Friend, Scott Mathieson, Les Walrond and Scott Podsednik are all on the roster of Venezuelan winter league teams.

The Samsung Lions’ Kang Bong-gyu hit a solo HR off SK Wyverns starting pitcher Brian Gordon in the bottom of the 4th inning of game 5 and the Lions went on to win the best of 7 Korean Series in 5 games by a 1-0 score. Gordon was the losing pitcher allowing the only run of the game in 4 innings of work.
The series was dominated by pitching as Samsung won games 1 & 2 by 2-0 and 2-1 scores. The Wyverns won the 3rd game 2-1 and in the only game where the hitters dominated the pitchers, the Lions outslugged the Wyverns in game 4 by an 8-4 score before clinching the title by shutting out the Wyverns 1-0 in game 5.
It’s unclear whether Brian Gordon became a free agent after the Korean Series ended or if he is still under contract with the SK Wyverns.
