Richie T Back in 2012 & Winter Banquet

It could be… (Thanks to Kram’s Korner for letting us know!)

Matt Provence has tweeted (@pigsradio) that:

“Unofficial reports indicate that OF Rich Thompson will indeed be returning to IronPigs in ’11! RT is LHV’s all-time leader in G, hits & SB.”

I suppose he meant ’12, but who wouldn’t want to relive the energy and excitement that the 2011 season provided.

That and knowing that he will be attending the IronPig Charities Winter Banquet (Formerly the Phillies Caravan).

The Banquet is a real good time and it’s for charity. I encourage you to attend. I’ll be there. So will Ryne Sandberg. If you want more details check out the IronPig’s website or give them a call.

  1. If only they’d hold that banquet on a weekend. *Sigh* Take lots of pictures for me….

  2. Oh — and I’m glad to have Richie T. back. I think that increases the odds of another Allentown trip next summer….

  3. Best wishes to Ryan Edell. According to the Baseball America free agent tracker, the crafty lefthander has signed with the Baltimore Orioles. He did a nice job in the Phillies organization in 2011 going 5-1 3.50 at Reading and 5-5 3.27 with the Ironpigs. He was the starting pitcher in game 2 of the opening round playoff series vs Pawtucket and gave up just 1 run in 5.2 innings pitched. The Ironpigs won that game 3-2 on a Brandon Moss basehit in the bottom of the 10th inning. He was also the losing pitcher when the Columbus Clippers ended the Ironpigs’ 2011 season with a 4-1 victory in the IL championship series. The Norfolk Tides, AAA team for the Orioles, come to Coca-Cola Park July 24-27.

  4. Richie TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
