Some transactions of note (Thanks Decal for letting us know)
Ryan Edell signed with the Orioles
Greg Golson (Who the Phillies traded to get John Mayberry Jr.) has signed with the Royals
Cory Sullivan signed with the Dodgers
Mike Spidale and Rich Thompson both officially re-signed in the Phillies organization
Drew Carpenter was removed from the Blue Jays 40 man roster and outrighted to AAA
The 2011 IronPig season had a definative impact on the return of many players returning for 2012. In previous seasons we’ve seen a handful come back but in 2012 we could get back at least 7 (depending on the distribution and spring training performance)
Signed so far are:
Thompson
Bush
Feierabend
Podsednik
Frandsen
Orr
Spidale (Played mostly in Reading)
We also have some younger guys in the mix who weren’t eligible for Free Agency so expect a familiar team next year!
Is it April yet?

I saw where Matt Eddy included Mike Spidale as a member of the 2011 Ironpigs but I don’t think Spidale spent any time with the Ironpigs in 2011 or 2010. From what I can tell, he played exclusively with Reading the past 2 years and hasn’t played for the Ironpigs since 2009.
Also, I don’t know if you saw it but I had asked Matt Eddy through twitter about Brian Gordon. He didn’t have an answer but forwarded it to @MyKBO. The reply from MyKBO was that the SK Wyverns tendered a contract to Gordon. They now have until December 31 to sign him. If they don’t come to terms by December 31 he can then sign anywhere but KBO (Korean Baseball Organization).
Opening Day is 103 days away. Not that I’m counting or anything. (It’s 109 days to the Pigs’ home opener, 108 days to the Drillers’ home opener, and 75 days until Daniel Webster High School’s first game….) We totally need a Noise Nation ticker or something counting down for us. 🙂
