    • Whitney Houston’s is bumped to #2 on my list as it spawned thousands of attempts to “individualize” the anthem. Her rendition was filled with passion, patriotism and pride combined with the Gulf war sentiments and was tremendous. She sought to honor her country not to audition for American Idol as many since have. I would love to see this at The Coke or at any other sporting event.

    That was really cool! I’d love to hear all the fans at The Coke singing like that, but I still would like my individual chance to honor my country – in your words, “with passion, patriotism, and pride” – but without the theatrics. Guess I’ll find out if I get my shot in April, when “they” make the calls….
