Dave Bush Suspended… Already?

From the IronPig’s media department:

MLB has announced that tonight’s original starter, RHP Dave Bush, has been suspended five games for his role in a bench-clearing incident in a preseason game vs. the Triple-A Pirates on 3/28… RHP Tyler Cloyd has been promoted from Reading (AA) and will start for LHV tonight.

And so it begins…

according to Mike LoRe of the E-T, Scott Podsednik was placed on the Temporary Inactive List (personal reasons) in a corresponding move.

  3. I sure hope the Podfather reports. I understand he may be upset as it seemed he really outplayed Pierre (out-hit and out-stole) yet didn’t get the spot. But he’s got the June 1 opt-out and I’d love to have him for the first part of the season…

    • When a player is suspended (Bush), he still counts towards the 25 man roster. The Ironpigs had to remove someone from the roster to make room for Tyler Cloyd. That someone was Scott Podsednik. I’m guessing he’ll be back on the active roster once Cloyd gets sent back to Reading.
