Great photos as always from Cheryl Pursell. It was a fun night at the ballpark and not as cold as I thought it might be.
Some videos from the tv broadcast at milb.com. They “should” play one after the next, probably in reverse order. I think there are at least 9 video clips.
And congratulations to Omaha starting pitcher and championship game MVP Chris Dwyer who was called up to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Omaha shortstop and leadoff hitter Irving Falu (3-5 with an RBI) also got the call.
Great photos from Cheryl, as always … The Dwyer guy did alright for himself — brought back memories of former IronPigs ace J.A. HAPP throwing a seven-inning no-hitter versus dreaded Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees to complete a rain-suspended game a few years back … Pinch-hit home run late and two men on base in the bottom of the ninth inning left the outcome in doubt until the very end. Good stuff, then. Made me feel like, at the end of the day, the $ 11 spent on the General Admission ticket was worth it … 😉 … Very pleased with the way that the Coca-Cola Park crowd gave the Omaha starting pitcher a long and loud standing ovation right after the no-hitter got broken up in the seventh inning.
