Morandini to Join IronPig’s Coaching Staff!

As reported by the IL Website, former Phillie favorite Mickey Morandini will join the Pigs as a bench coach!

He is a great addition to Dave Brundage, Ray Burris and Sal Rende.

Welcome to the Valley!

  1. This is a very interesting development, and not at all expected.

I wonder if he will coach third, or will Brundy still do it?

I wonder if this is to help with middle infield, and fielding?

I wonder if Sandberg had a say in this in some way, perhaps grooming MM to help him in Philly sooner rather than later?

I wonder what MM’s feelings are on this? Closer to the Show? Coaches want to get there just like players. Would he rather run his own show as a manager? Is this the Phillies saying he can’t cut it as a skipper?

We’ve never had a bench coach here before, and never a staff of four (with Rende and Burris back), right? Is this the Phillies putting an emphasis on AAA? Will we see more quality baseball and more wins?

Will Rende still keep track of the National Anthem time? Or, does this become Morandini’s job? Does this mean more $$ in the pool?

    All good questions, right?

Great news! I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to the coaching staff with our Pigs!!
